Tulsa Aphasia Support Group

Individuals and caregivers can join others experiencing life with aphasia to learn ways to cope, recover and enjoy life.

The group meets the second Friday of each month, September through June, from 10 to 11 a.m. Meetings are held at the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges, Classroom 3, 815 S. Utica Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.

Northeastern Oklahoma Cochlear Implant Support Group

We provide a venue to learn, practice listening and connect with individuals who use cochlear implants. Closed captioning is offered. ASL interpreters are available upon request. Everyone is welcome including individuals with cochlear implants and anyone considering a cochlear implant. Parents, spouses, family members, friends and students are also encouraged to attend.

The group meets from 6:45 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month (unless otherwise published). Virtual-only meetings on Microsoft Teams are held in January and February. Meetings are held simultaneously in-person at TU’s Mary K. Chapman Center and virtually using Microsoft Teams in March, April, May, June, August, September and October. No meetings are held in July, November and December.

Directions to campus

  1. Take Highway 244 to the Delaware exit.
  2. Turn South on Delaware.
  3. Go to 5th Street and turn East.
  4. The Mary K. Chapman Center is on the south side of 5th Street.
  5. Limited disabled parking is available directly in front of the building.

Additional parking is available in the lots across the street to the north. Access to these lots is from 4th Place. Turn east on 4th place (before reaching 5th Street) and turn south into the third driveway on the right. Drive through the parking lot until you see the signs on the west side that are labeled “Speech and Hearing Clinic Reserved” or park in any available space. The clinic is directly across 5th Street southwest of the parking lot.

National Stuttering Association Chapter Meeting

Join other people who stutter, their friends, family and speech-language pathologists to learn more about stuttering and explore new ways to cope with stuttering in a safe environment.

Tulsa Family Chapter

Kids and teens who stutter (ages 7-17), family members, speech professionals. For the Fall 2022 semester we will be joining with the Oklahoma State adult and family chapters.
