Dorlyn Waits, BSN, RN, has been awarded The DAISY Award for her work with The University of Tulsa School of Nursing where she has served as a nurse preceptor for junior nursing students for more than 17 years. Waits has mentored 30 nursing students and volunteered 1,200 hours toward their nursing education. She is also a nurse at Oliver Middle School in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The DAISY Award is given in 2,600 healthcare facilities across the U.S. and 15 countries. Recipients are nominated by their peers, physicians and patient and family. Waits has received a certificate, DAISY award pin, “A Healer’s Touch” sculpture and a spotlight page on The DAISY Foundation website.
